Nancy Zhou

Nancy Zhou is a lecturer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), teaching Violin Performance. She holds an Artist Diploma from the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Harvard University. Known for her collaborations with major orchestras like the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and New Jersey Symphony, she also works with renowned artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter and Xian Zhang.

Research & Teaching Interests: Her focus spans violin performance techniques, chamber music, and mindful musicianship, integrating movement and breathing into expressive playing. She emphasizes the intersection of literature (stemming from her English degree) and music.

Collaborations & Performances: Highlights include premieres of works by Zhao Jiping and Unsuk Chin, residencies at Santa Cruz Symphony, and partnerships with festivals like Tanglewood and Verbier. She is currently preparing for a commercial debut recording.
