Nancy R Sottos

Nancy R Sottos holds the Maybelle Leland Swanlund Endowed Chair and is a Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Science and Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and affiliated with the Materials Research Lab and Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. She is also the Head of the Center for Advanced Study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on self-healing materials, 3D printing of thermosets, frontal polymerization, and sustainable material recycling. Key achievements include developing morphogenic 3D printing techniques and multi-generational thermoset recycling systems.
