Dr. Nancy Lopez is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History, Humanities and Languages at the University of Houston-Downtown. She holds a PhD in History from Rice University and a JD in Law from The University of Texas at Austin.

Her research focuses on radicalism and anti-radical movements in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s. She teaches a range of courses including United States History to 1877, United States History 1877 to Present, and specialized topics like Twentieth-Century Russia and United States Women's History.
Dr. Lopez has received the Outstanding Lecturer award from the University of Houston-Downtown Faculty Senate in April 2021. She has been consistently teaching undergraduate history courses since at least 2019, including field experience courses (ISS 4380).
