Nancy Byatt

Dr. Nancy Byatt is a Professor of Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School. She is also the Founding Executive Director of the Lifeline for Families Center and the developer of MCPAP for Moms, a statewide program improving perinatal mental health care access. Her research focuses on implementation science, systems-level interventions, and maternal-child mental health. Dr. Byatt holds degrees including a DO, MS in Clinical Investigation, and MBA.

Education: Lehigh University (BA in Arts), New York Institute of Technology (MBA), University of Massachusetts Medical School (MS in Clinical Investigation, DO), and postgraduate fellowships at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Research Interests: Dr. Byatt's work centers on enhancing mental health care access for parents and children, particularly through scalable interventions. She emphasizes prevention strategies, healthcare equity, and collaboration across disciplines.

Awards: Recipient of the Steven Banks Award (2023), Distinguished Fellow of the APA (2022), Marcé Society Medal (2021), and numerous grants and recognitions for her leadership and research.

Grants & Advising: Over $10M in federal funding, 100+ peer-reviewed publications, and 350+ presentations. She mentors teams in MCPAP for Moms and the Lifeline for Families Center, advancing policy and clinical practices.

Labs/Teams: Directs the Lifeline for Families Center, which focuses on capacity-building, consultation, and research to improve mental health services for families.
