Nancy Bocken

Nancy Bocken serves as Professor in Sustainable Business & Circular Economy at Maastricht University's Maastricht Sustainability Institute (MSI), with additional affiliations as a Fellow at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and strategic advisor to TNO. Her academic leadership spans European and global sustainability initiatives.

Her research centers on sustainable business model innovation, circular economy implementation, and overcoming the 'idea-action gap' through experimental approaches. Key projects include the €1.5 million ERC-funded Circular X program examining circular business model experimentation across national contexts. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical business applications in sustainability transitions.

She maintains industry connections through co-founding the circular business HOMIE and previous roles at DHL, ING, and Accenture.
