Nancy A. Letassy

Nancy A. Letassy serves as a Clinical Professor in the Physician Assistant program at Oklahoma City University, teaching pharmacotherapy to first-year students since joining in January 2016.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degrees in Zoology and Secondary Education from Southeast Missouri State University
• BS in Pharmacy from University of Missouri at Kansas City
• Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas
• Post-doctoral residency in Adult Medicine at Brackenridge Hospital, Austin, Texas

With over 25 years of clinical expertise, Dr. Letassy specializes in pharmacotherapy applications for diabetes management and cardiovascular risk reduction. Her career spans 6 years as a pharmacist clinician in the VA Medical Center's Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Unit (1990-1996) followed by 20 years as a diabetes educator/provider at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center's Family Medicine Center (1996-2016), integrating evidence-based clinical practice into her academic instruction.

Prior to OKCU, she held faculty positions at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy and University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Pharmacy, bringing extensive cross-institutional academic experience to her current role.

Dr. Letassy mentors first-year Physician Assistant students in pharmacotherapeutic principles, emphasizing real-world medication management strategies for chronic disease treatment while maintaining active clinical credentials as a Certified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.).
