Namsoo Shin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education (CEPSE) at Michigan State University and serves as the Associate Director of Innovation and Research at the CREATE for STEM Institute. Her research focuses on developing individualized learning environments and evidence-based learning progressions to support all students in developing problem-solving skills through innovative classroom activities, learning technology tools, and assessments.

Dr. Shin's research integrates personalized learning, learning progressions, and educational technology to create customized educational experiences for diverse learners, with strong emphasis on special education applications and STEM education innovation through the CREATE for STEM Institute.

Prior to joining Michigan State University in 2015, Dr. Shin spent ten years at the University of Michigan. Her current leadership at the CREATE for STEM Institute drives research and development of evidence-based educational frameworks for national STEM initiatives.
