Namhee Han is an Assistant Professor of Korean and East Asian Studies at Queens College, City University of New York. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and specializes in the cultural history of modern Korea, transnational screen cultures, and digital archives. Her interdisciplinary research examines Cold War media, technology, and postcolonial visual practices across East Asia.
Her current book projects include Between Screens: Cold War Transnationalism and Widescreen Culture in South Korea and Japan, analyzing aesthetic-political dimensions of screen media, and Networked Mourning: Visual Colonial Korea in Digital East Asia, investigating digitally restored colonial-era artifacts in museums. She actively engages public scholarship through film screenings and international cultural initiatives.
