Nalan OVA

Nalan OVA is an Associate Professor affiliated with the Faculty of Communication, specializing in Journalism and Press Economics and Management. Her work spans media studies, gender research, and discourse analysis, focusing on topics like violence against women, LGBTQ+ representation, and sociopolitical transformations in Turkey.

• PhD, MA, and BA in Journalism from Ankara University

Her research explores critical intersections between media and society, including alternative media, public sphere dynamics, and the representation of marginalized groups. Recently, she has examined gendered violence in news discourse, political polarization around migrants, and historical shifts in Turkish journalism through cinematic narratives.

OVA has contributed to academic literature with publications in internationally refereed journals and book chapters. She has served as an editor for national and international journals and presented at conferences on topics ranging from social media trends to crisis communication and feminist media studies.
