Nader Moazami, MD is the George E. Reed Professor of Cardiac Surgery, Chief of the Division of Heart and Lung Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Associate Program Director of Thoracic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He specializes in end-stage heart failure, heart transplants, and mechanical circulatory support devices. Dr. Moazami is a recipient of the 2021 Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Healthcare Innovators Award for his contributions to transplantation medicine.
Education: MD from Columbia University (1992), General Surgery Residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (1998), and Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2001). Board-certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery since 2003.
