Her research integrates international law, political science, and economics to analyze governance, democratization, and development in the Global South. Key themes include the impact of international institutions (e.g., ICC, UN) on states like Sudan, environmental law conflicts (e.g., Merowe Dam), and TWAIL perspectives on justice systems. Recent work addresses Sudan’s transition post-2019 Revolution with the Economic Research Forum (ERF).
Publications emphasize critical analyses of ICC efficacy, legal norms, and power dynamics in transitional states. Her work bridges legal theory with empirical studies, often employing interdisciplinary approaches to address systemic inequalities in international law.
Funding and collaborations include ESRC/DFID research on Sudan’s Merowe Dam and ERF advisory roles on democratization. Her teaching and research reflect a commitment to South-centric legal frameworks and equitable development.
