NOEMI PEREIRA ARES

Noemi Pereira Ares is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of English and German Philology and the Faculty of Philology. She is part of the Humanities Research Institute (iHUS) and the research group DI-1924 'Discourse and identity: Multidisciplinary GI for the study of English language, literature, and culture.' Her work focuses on postcolonial literature, diaspora studies, and the intersection of fashion with cultural identity, particularly in South Asian diaspora narratives.

She holds a Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2015), with a thesis titled 'Dressed bodies that matter: a study of dress in the literature of the South Asian diaspora in Britain,' supervised by Margarita Estévez Saá and José Manuel Estevez-Saá. Her research bridges literary analysis with sociocultural critiques, exploring themes such as identity formation, migration, and gender through the lens of clothing and cultural narratives.
