Myra Parker

Myra Parker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine, affiliated with the Center for the Studies of Health and Risk Behaviors. She serves as Director of Seven Directions: A Center for Indigenous Health. Her work focuses on tribal public health program implementation, community-based participatory research, and addressing health disparities through culturally adapted interventions.

Education: B.A. in Human Biology (Stanford University, 1996), J.D. (University of Arizona College of Law, 2001), M.P.H. (University of Arizona School of Public Health, 2002), and Ph.D. in Health Services (University of Washington School of Public Health, 2010).

Research emphasizes tribal sovereignty in health data governance, leveraging her legal background to develop ethical frameworks for research collaboration with Indigenous communities. She has over a decade of experience working with tribal communities in Arizona, Idaho, Washington, and tribal colleges nationwide.
