About
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Polat is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Middle East Technical University (1999) and has been affiliated with Yeditepe University since 2002. His research focuses on global attractors, nonlinear partial differential equations, and mathematical physics. He has supervised numerous graduate theses, including recent works on blow-up analysis of PDEs and applications of deep learning techniques in mathematics.
Education:
- PhD in Mathematics, Middle East Technical University (1993-1999)
- MSc in Mathematics, Middle East Technical University (1988-1991)
- BSc in Mathematics, Middle East Technical University (1983-1988)
Research interests span: nonlinear PDEs, fluid dynamics, dynamical systems, and mathematical modeling. His recent work emphasizes blow-up phenomena in hyperbolic equations and attractor theory for Navier-Stokes systems. He regularly publishes in SCI-Expanded journals like Turkish Journal of Mathematics and Applicable Analysis.
Administrative roles include serving as Deputy Chair of the Mathematics Department at Yeditepe University (2003-2014). He maintains memberships in the Turkish Mathematical Society and organized national mechanics conferences. Teaching responsibilities include calculus, linear algebra, and advanced courses like Fourier analysis and topology.
