Mustafa Krupalija

Mustafa Krupalija is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations at the International University of Sarajevo. He holds a PhD in the Sociology of Religion from Istanbul University, following degrees from Uludağ University (Theology) and Marmara University (Sociology of Religion). His research focuses on nationalism, religion, history, and cultural identity formation in the Balkans and former Yugoslav regions.

His recent publications highlight tensions between religious institutions and state governance (e.g., Vakuf administration reforms) and the geopolitical implications of 'Mini Schengen' discourse in the Western Balkans.

His articles often bridge historical analysis with modern political dynamics, emphasizing how memory and identity shape contemporary socio-political landscapes in post-Yugoslav states. Krupalija has no listed scientific awards but maintains active research on nationalism, religious pluralism, and Balkan historiography.

As a faculty member, he coordinates the DDCC program and contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on regional integration and cultural heritage preservation. His research has been published across platforms including Google Scholar and ORCID.
