Mustafa Insel

Mustafa Insel is a Lecturer at Istanbul Technical University (since 1991) and a Partner at Hidroteknik Nautical Design Technologies Ltd. in Turkey. He holds roles as a Senator at Istanbul Technical University and Coordinator of the EU Research Office. He also coordinates the Yacht and High Performance Vehicles Research and Application Group at Istanbul Technical University, and serves as a member of trustees at Piri Reis University. He lectures in the Yacht Design postgraduate program at Izmir Economy University.

Education: Ph.D. in Naval Architecture from the University of Southampton (UK). His research focuses on yacht and ship design, resistance reduction, air lubrication, energy efficiency, and emission reduction. He has conducted postgraduate teaching in Naval Architecture, Ship Design, and Yacht Design, and participated in EU research programs as evaluator, reviewer, researcher, and committee expert.

Professional Experience: Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Southampton (UK) and University of New South Wales (Australia), and former Chairman of the Board at Turkish Loyd (Turkish Ship Classification Society, 2007-2011). He contributes to maritime innovation and policy through academic and industry collaborations.
