Mustafa Guvench

Mustafa Guvench is a Full Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Southern Maine's College of Science, Technology, & Health. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University (1975), with prior academic roles at METU, Ankara and the University of Pittsburgh. He served as Department Chair at METU Gaziantep (1979-80) and USM (1998-99).

His research focuses on microelectronics, MEMS-based sensor design, semiconductor device modeling, and photovoltaic systems. He has secured funding from NSF, NIH, NASA, and private industries. Recent work includes photovoltaic textiles (patent pending) and COMSOL modeling of coupled MEMS resonators. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, iMAPS, and ASEE.

His publications emphasize automation in electronics testing, solar energy systems, and MEMS applications. He has collaborated on dual-axis solar tracking systems and USB-based instrumentation solutions.
