About
Musa ERDOĞAN is an Associate Professor in the Department of Food Engineering at Kafkas University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. Holding a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Atatürk University (2019), he has established an interdisciplinary research program bridging food chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and materials science. His academic journey includes progression from Teaching Staff (2013-2019) to Doctoral Teaching Member (2019-2022) and current Associate Professor position (2022-present), with additional leadership roles as Department Head (2024-present) and BAP Coordinator (2022-2024).
His research focuses on organic synthesis for dual applications in
- Medicinal chemistry (dibenzoazepine-triazole hybrids for cancer therapy)
- Materials science (D-π-A architectures for photodetectors and sensors)
- Food safety (colorimetric sensors for contaminants)
As an academic advisor, he has supervised two master's theses on hybrid anticancer compounds. His collaborative network spans 75 researchers across Turkish institutions including Atatürk University, Ondokuz Mayıs University, and Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, with frequent co-authorship patterns indicating stable research teams in medicinal chemistry and materials science. Current projects focus on dibenzofulvene-based organic materials (2025-2027) and BODIPY derivatives for photosensitization (2024-2026), supported by university research grants.
