Murray Allen

Murray Allen is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at Canterbury Christ Church University, based in the AHP and Dental Practice/SIM unit. He serves as Course Director for the BSc (Hons) Public Health suite and leads key modules including 'Health Promotion; Think Globally, Act Locally' for the MSc Global Public Health program alongside undergraduate courses in Physical Activity, Health and Wellbeing, Researching Health and Wellbeing, and Psychology and Health.

His educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degree in Sport Science from Liverpool John Moores University
• MSc in Cardiac Rehabilitation (with distinction) from the University of Essex (2007)

Allen's research focuses on physical activity and health, obesity, and behaviour change, informed by his clinical background as an NHS exercise physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation and morbid obesity programs. His professional expertise extends to level 4 Register of Exercise Professionals certifications in cardiac rehabilitation, lower back pain management, and obesity/diabetes.
