Muhammad Zaman is Professor and Vice Chair of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, with joint appointments in Materials Science and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. His research addresses global health challenges including antimicrobial resistance, refugee health systems, and equitable medical access. Zaman develops field-deployable diagnostics and analyzes health systems in conflict zones through the Center on Forced Displacement.
He authored 'Biography of Resistance' on the antibiotic crisis and 'Bitter Pills' on counterfeit medicines.
