Prof. Muhammad ZAFARULLAH is a Full Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on signaling mechanisms of pro/anti-inflammatory cytokines, regulation of TIMP-3 and TIMP-4 genes, and roles in bone tissue remodeling. He studies TGF-β and Oncostatin M pathways, with emphasis on matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and aggrecanases (ADAMTS) in joint diseases and atherosclerosis.
