Muh Geot Wong

Associate Professor Muh Geot Wong is a part-time clinician-researcher at the Kolling Institute and George Institute, affiliated with the University of Sydney's Concord Clinical School within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. He leads the Renal Clinical Trial Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital and chairs the Kolling Research Executive Committee. His research focuses on kidney fibrosis mechanisms, CKD progression, and biomarker discovery, particularly in diabetic kidney disease and IgA nephropathy. He has co-supervised four postgraduate students and holds leadership roles in clinical guidelines and professional committees.

His research spans translational studies, clinical trials, and biomarker development. Recent work includes evaluating sparsentan in IgA nephropathy (NEJM/Lancet publications), SGLT2 inhibitor effects on CKD (Diabetes Obesity Metabolism), and non-invasive kidney cell diagnostics (Scientific Reports). He has received multiple early-career awards and contributes to global nephrology initiatives like the ISN Global Kidney Health Atlas.
