Dame Muffy Calder is Professor of Formal Methods at the University of Glasgow and Senior Visiting Fellow at CETaS. She previously served as Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Science and Engineering (2015-2025).
Her research develops computational modeling and automated reasoning for complex systems, with applications in responsible AI, privacy protection, and national security. She pioneers formal methods for verifying autonomous systems and assessing AI impacts on privacy.
