About
Mouna Chkir is a Lecturer at the University of Picardie Jules Verne's Faculty of Sciences, Department of Materials and Process Engineering, and has been a member of the EPROAD research unit (EA 4669) since September 2012. She works within the IMaP team and the SIMaPE team (Simulation and Engineering of Materials and Processes for the Environment).
Her primary research focuses on waste recovery processes using apatitic adsorbents for the retention of organic pollutants and heavy metals. She specializes in the formulation of apatitic matrices, with work that includes recovering industrial waste in apatitic matrices synthesized by wet processing, characterizing materials, establishing optimized manufacturing processes for decontamination of liquid industrial effluents, and studying fixation mechanisms and kinetics of pollutants.
Her secondary research involves experimental study of physical and thermal phenomena in granular media, specifically examining solid/fluid behavior in fluidized beds and studying hydrodynamic and rheological aspects to support modeling of multi-physical processes.
Within the SIMaPE team, her work contributes to sustainable materials development with focus on reducing energy consumption, improving recyclability, utilizing renewable resources and industrial waste, and considering environmental impacts throughout product lifecycles.
Her research aligns with broader institutional goals of sustainable development through materials engineering and environmental process optimization.
