Morten Goodwin

Professor Morten Goodwin leads AI research at University of Agder's Department of Information and Communication Technology, serving as Deputy Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research (CAIR). With over 200 publications, his work focuses on deep neural networks for NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.

He develops interpretable AI frameworks for applications ranging from road quality detection to human activity recognition. His research bridges fundamental AI advances with practical implementations in healthcare, agriculture, and industrial systems.

Awarded the NORA Prize for contributions to AI community building, he advises government bodies including the Norwegian Data Protection Board and Technology Council.
