Moritz Stahl

Moritz Stahl is a Research Associate at the Institute of Energy and Process Systems Engineering within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Technische Universität Braunschweig, where he has been working since 2023.

His educational background includes:

• M.Sc. in Electromobility from TU Braunschweig (2019-2023), specializing in Power Electronics, Li-Ion Batteries, and Hydrogen Electrolysis. His thesis focused on 'Modeling of a Solid Oxide Electrolyzer for Hydrogen Generation.'
• B.Sc. in Mechatronics from Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg & Robert Bosch GmbH (2014-2017), specializing in Automotive Systems Engineering. His thesis addressed 'Development, Design, Construction, and Testing of a Device for Leakage Detection for Test Specimens in a High-Pressure Pulsation Test Stand for ABS/ESP Brake System Components.'

Stahl's research focuses on hydrogen energy technologies and electrochemical processes. His primary areas include PEM Water Electrolysis, Electrochemical performance characterization, Degradation studies, and In-situ and ex-situ measurement methods. His work contributes to advancing sustainable energy technologies, particularly in hydrogen production systems.

Prior to his current position, Stahl worked as a Research Assistant at both the Institute of Energy and Process Engineering and the Institute for Control Engineering at TU Braunschweig (2020-2022). He has industry experience as a Project Engineer and IT Administrator at Deutsche Erdwärme GmbH & Co. KG (2018-2019). His international experience includes deployments at Bosch Automotive in Thailand and Bosch Engineering GmbH in Abstatt.
