About
Dr. Moritz Laub is a Lecturer at the Department of Environmental Systems Science, ETH Zurich. His research focuses on sustainable agricultural practices, soil carbon dynamics, and environmental modeling to combat climate change. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim (2017–2021), an M.Sc. in Agricultural Science in the Tropics and Subtropics (2013–2016), and a B.Sc. in Renewable Resources and Bioenergy (2009–2013).
His work integrates field measurements and modeling to enhance soil fertility and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Current projects include the LANDMARC and ISFM initiatives, aiming to develop sustainable agricultural management practices. He collaborates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate land-based mitigation strategies and engage stakeholders for practical solutions.
Laub’s research employs infrared spectroscopy and soil carbon models to address uncertainties in climate change impacts. His publications focus on soil organic matter decomposition, parameter uncertainty reduction, and spectroscopic techniques for soil analysis.
