About
Dr. Moritz Hauck is a junior research group leader at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), affiliated with the Department of Mathematics and the Institute for Applied and Numerical Mathematics. Since February 2025, he has led the research group 'Numerical methods for multiscale problems' within the Collaborative Research Center 1173 'Wave Phenomena'.
Research interests include:
- Numerical analysis of multiscale problems
- Partial differential equations with heterogeneous coefficients
- Spatial network models for fiber-based materials
- Discretization of nonlinear Schrödinger problems (e.g., Gross–Pitaevskii equations)
He recently taught a seminar on 'Scale-Bridging Numerical Methods' in Winter Semester 2025/26. His work bridges computational science with mathematical methods through advanced numerical techniques.
