Morgan Després

Morgan Després is a Lecturer at the Hertie School, where he teaches Green Finance in Europe & the World. He currently serves as Executive Director for International Climate Finance and Nature at the European Climate Foundation (ECF), following 18 years in the French official sector focused on financial stability and international financial regulation, including roles at the Banque de France.

His research and professional expertise span:

• Climate finance and its integration into global financial systems
• Sustainable finance regulation and policy frameworks
• Environmental economics and green financial system transitions

He co-authored the landmark report The Green Swan: Central Banking and Financial Stability in the Age of Climate Change and was the founding Head of the Secretariat of the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). He is also a Trustee of the IFRS Foundation.
