Moonjung Kang

Moonjung Kang is a Professor of Visual Communication Design at West Liberty University, affiliated with the Department of Arts and Communication within the College of Liberal and Creative Arts. She has held academic roles since 2009 and has extensive teaching experience in multiple institutions across South Korea and the U.S., including roles as an Instructor, Adjunct Faculty, and Chief Designer in diverse design disciplines.

Education:

• BFA in Graphic Design, Concentration: Visual Communication Design, Hansung University
• MFA in Graphic Design, Concentration: Packaging Design, Hongik University

Research & Teaching Interests: Specializes in Design Thinking, UX/UI Design, Motion Graphics, Packaging Design, Branding, Typography, and Digital Media Design. Her pedagogical focus spans theoretical and applied design principles, with a strong emphasis on contemporary digital tools and industry-relevant practices.

Professional Experience: Over 20 years of academic and industry experience, including roles at Design Envision (Chief Designer, 1996–2003) and ID Design (Graphic Designer, 1992–1995). Active in design competitions and holds board membership in KOCON.

She is a core member of the Department of Media and Visual Arts at West Liberty, contributing to academic programs and fostering student projects in visual design disciplines.
