Montathar Faraon

Montathar Faraon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design at the Faculty of Business, Kristianstad University. His research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, design, and education, with particular emphasis on AI-driven pedagogy, co-creative media, and digital transformation in higher education. He holds a PhD from Stockholm University and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Key research areas include AI literacy for educators, AI applications in design education, and democratic engagement through digital technologies. He leads projects such as UTAI: Utbildning och Artificiell Intelligens and INAI: Interaktionsdesign och Artificiell Intelligens, exploring AI’s role in teaching methodologies and interactive systems.

Dr. Faraon has published extensively on topics like AI in graphic design, voice-based feedback systems, and remote voting mechanisms. He received the Merited Teacher award and actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and innovation.

Teaching responsibilities include web design, design research methods, and thesis supervision at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. He collaborates with global institutions and frequently appears in media discussing AI’s impact on education and society.
