Monique Platell

Monique Platell is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Allied Health. She completed her PhD in 2020 focusing on adolescent mental health service access in Perth. Her current work includes leading the Thoughtful Schools Project, an evidence-based trauma-informed toolkit for schools, and contributing to the Transforming Indigenous Mental Health and Wellbeing Project.

Research Interests: She specializes in qualitative research addressing gaps in mental health systems, cultural safety in healthcare for Indigenous populations, and trauma-informed education. Her work emphasizes equitable access to mental health care and integrates community perspectives to reform systemic barriers.
