Monika Kumar

Monika Kumar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology, where she joined the faculty in 2020 after serving as Chief Fellow during her fellowship. Board-certified in hematology and oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she maintains an active clinical and research profile focused on advancing cancer care.

Her educational credentials include a Bachelor of Public Health from Tulane University (magna cum laude), Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Master of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University as a Global Health and Health Disparities Scholar, and Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Kumar's research prioritizes innovative cancer treatment methodologies and drug therapies, evidenced by her role as sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials.
