Monica Snowden

Dr. Monica Snowden is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at Wayne State College (WSC), affiliated with the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1997), along with an M.A. (1992) and B.A. (1988) from the same institution. Her research focuses on environmental sociology, social inequalities, pedagogy, and health/wellness. A co-author of the textbook *Environment and Society* (6th Ed., Routledge, 2017), she teaches courses such as environmental sociology, social problems, race/ethnic relations, and social theory. Snowden is a member of scholarly societies including the American Sociological Association and the Rural Sociological Society. Her career has spanned roles in Lincoln and Wayne, Nebraska, with international experiences in Jamaica and Canada. She emphasizes sociological analysis and research skills in her teaching to prepare students for diverse post-graduate paths.
