Monica Priante

Doc. Monica Priante is an academic affiliated with the Catholic University of Croatia and other institutions, holding roles such as Lecturer since 2022. She specializes in cultural history, particularly the culture of death at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. Her teaching spans Italian language and literature at multiple institutions, including the Catholic Faculty of Theology (University of Zagreb), Faculty of Philosophy, and Edward Bernays Polytechnic.

Education: She earned a PhD from the Croatian Studies Department at the University of Zagreb (focused on Bishop Strossmayer) and a Master’s in teaching Italian (2018). Her research includes a monograph on Strossmayer and presentations at international conferences.

Professional Activities: President of the Dante Alighieri Society in Zagreb (2018–present), leading projects to promote Italian language/culture. Mentor for Italian Studies students, proofreader of educational materials, and member of the Commission for State Competition in Italian language. Collaborates with the Italian Institute for Culture and NCVVO on exam development.
