Monica Pacini is an Associate Professor at the Department of History, Archaeology, Geography, Arts and Entertainment (SAGAS) of the University of Florence, specializing in economic and social history with a focus on gender and urban studies. She holds a PhD in Economic and Social History from Bocconi University (2003) and was a British Institute scholar at Magdalene College, Cambridge (2004).

Her recent publications analyze pandemic impacts (Glocal Spanish Influenza PRIN, 2022), industrial labor (Il Nuovo Pignone, 2024), and gendered historiography (Narrating Women's History, 2022). Awards include the 2008 Luigi Salvatorelli Prize, 2010 Laurenziana Medal, and 2013 Gisa Giani Award.
She contributes to editorial boards of il de Martino and Genesis, and collaborates with the Global Europeanness research unit. Teaching includes PhD supervision at Urbino University and courses on contemporary history at Florence University.
