Monica Jansen

Dr. Monica Jansen is an Assistant Professor in Italian Literature at Utrecht University's Department of Languages, Literature and Communication. Her research focuses on modernism/postmodernism studies, cultural representations of precarity, migration, and youth, employing interdisciplinary/transnational approaches. She has led/co-authored major publications like The History of Futurism (2012) and Le culture del precariato (2015). Key roles include editorships of Incontri. Rivista europea di studi italiani and Annali d'Italianistica. She co-founded ICOJIL (International Conferences on Jewish Italian Literature) and contributed to EU-funded projects like 'Precarity and Post-Autonomia' (NWO) and 'I work, therefore I am (European)' (Jean Monnet). Active in research networks such as CEMS (Centre for European Modernism Studies) and Utrecht Forum for Memory Studies.
