Monica Cavender

Monica Cavender is an Associate Professor of Education at Quinnipiac University's School of Law and Education. She holds a B.S. and M.A. from the University of South Florida, and an Ed.D. from the University of Phoenix. Her teaching focuses on mathematics instruction in primary grades and teacher discourse strategies.

Professor Cavender's research explores effective mathematics pedagogy and language development in elementary classrooms. She mentors teacher candidates in developing positive classroom communities and effective communication techniques.
