Monica Bonvicini

Prof. Monica Bonvicini holds a professorship in sculpture at Universität der Künste Berlin since 2017, previously serving at Akademie der Künste Vienna (2003–2017). She studied at Hochschule der Künste Berlin and California Institute of the Arts. Her work explores socio-political conditions through sculpture, installation, video, and architecture critique, emphasizing gender roles and power structures. Major installations exist in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (London), Oslo Opera House fjord, and Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.

Exhibitions: Featured in Venice Biennale, Berlin Biennale, MoMA New York, Tate Modern, and over 30 international institutions.

Awards: Golden Lion (Venice Biennale), Roland Prize, National Gallery Prize.

Teaching: Advises students Miriam Döring and Jolyon Jones. Her classes focus on performative arts and sculptural practice.
