Monica Boffito

Monica Boffito is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) of Polytechnic University of Turin, and a member of the PolitoBIOMed Interdepartmental Center for Biomedical Engineering. Her research focuses on biomaterials, drug delivery systems, polymeric hydrogels, polyurethanes, and tissue engineering, with a particular emphasis on advanced biomedical applications.

Her recent publications highlight innovations in 3D hydrogel systems for cardiac tissue modeling, chronic wound treatment, and supramolecular biomaterials. She supervises PhD students Andrea Alliaud (3D cardiac tissue models), Paola Grillo Coppola (supramolecular hydrogels), and former student Roberta Pappalardo (injectable hydrogels for drug delivery). She holds patents for thermosensitive hydrogel constructs and injectable polyurethanes in biomedical contexts.
