Mona Lopez

Mona Lopez is a full-time Teaching Professor in the Department of Education at St. Mary’s University. She serves as Certification Officer for teacher candidates and coaches first-year St. Mary’s alumni teachers. Her roles include advising and professional development for educators.

Education:

• B.A. in Political Science, St. Mary’s University (1986)
• M.A. in Educational Leadership, St. Mary’s University (1999)

Her research interests focus on teaching diverse populations, adolescent development, and leadership practices in education. She has presented at national conferences on topics such as data-driven leadership, school improvement strategies, and conscious communication in educational settings.

Mona also serves as a consultant/trainer for Texas Education Service Center – Region 20 and VitalSmarts® Leadership Training Company, specializing in leadership development and school accountability initiatives.
