Mona Elsayed

Mona Elsayed, MD, MSc is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and serves as the Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology training program. She is board certified in Neurology, Epilepsy, and Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Her educational background includes:

Dr. Elsayed's clinical expertise centers on epilepsy management, with specialization in refractory epilepsy treatment, Epilepsy Surgery, and brain stimulation therapies. She also manages status epilepticus, autoimmune encephalitis, and provides critical care/long-term EEG monitoring. Her work extends to IntraOperative NeuroMonitoring for complex spine and brain surgeries, including epilepsy surgery cases.

As an educator, she actively mentors medical students, neurology residents, and fellows in the Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship programs, contributing significantly to academic training within the department.
