Mollye Bendell is an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Maryland. Her research focuses on Digital Media, Immersive Media, and Interactive Installation, exploring themes of vulnerability and connectivity in contemporary society. She holds a BA in Sculpture from the Glasgow School of Art and an MFA in Intermedia and Digital Arts from UMBC.

Her work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Baltimore Museum of Art, New York Electronic Arts Festival, and Maryland Art Place. Key projects include RENOVATIONS, a collaboration with strikeWare collective funded by the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, which investigated the history of Black education in Baltimore. She has been an artist-in-residence at Wave Farm/WGXC, Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center, and the Tides Institute and Museum of Art. Mollye was also nominated for the Janet + Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize in 2020.
Her artistic practice merges technical innovation with socio-cultural inquiry, often addressing themes of visibility and human connection in digitized environments.
