Molly Morgan

Molly Morgan is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Anthropology at Rice University, additionally serving as Co-Director of the Program in Museum and Cultural Heritage. Her research focuses on plantation archaeology in Brazoria County, TX, examining historical contexts of captive labor and public history through community engagement. She also conducts Mesoamerican archaeology research in regions like the Formative Pacific Coast, Preclassic Maya Lowlands, and Classic Maya sites in Guatemala/Belize.

Her work integrates environmental and social archaeology frameworks, emphasizing experiential learning for students in all stages of archaeological research. Active in public heritage initiatives, she collaborates with local Texas communities and organizations to bridge academic research with public interpretation.
