Molly Kugel serves as an Instructor in the Department of English within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. Her professional contact includes office NC 4020D and email molly.kugel@ucdenver.edu, with office hours by appointment.
She holds a PhD in English and Literary Arts from the University of Denver, establishing her academic foundation in literary scholarship and creative practice.
Her research synthesizes poetry, ecological studies, and botanical history through both creative and scholarly work. As author of the poetry collection Groundcover (Tolsun Books, 2022) and chapbooks sky, lotus, dust (dancing girl press, 2023) and The Forest of the Suburbs (Five Oaks Press, 2015), she explores environmental consciousness in contemporary writing. Her forthcoming academic monograph Women, Poetry, and American Botanical Culture (Bloomsbury Academic) examines intersections of gender, literature, and plant science. These publications appearing in journals like Plant-Human Quarterly and Bennington Review reveal consistent engagement with ecological poetics and cultural botany.
As Ecology Editor for Cordella Press, she actively shapes discourse in environmental literature while maintaining her creative output across poetry and academic writing.
