Mohammad Alhawary is Professor of Arabic Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition in the Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan. He directs two graduate programs: the MA in Arabic for Professional Purposes (APP) and the MA in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL). His research advances empirical understanding of Arabic second language acquisition processes to inform pedagogical approaches.
