Mohammad Alhawari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Khalifa University (2016), an M.Sc. in Microsystem Engineering from Masdar Institute (2012), and a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from Yarmouk University (2008). As director of the Intelligent Chips (iChip) research lab, he leads innovative work in Systems-on-Chip for automotive, biomedical, IoT, and wireless applications.

Dr. Alhawari has received prestigious awards, including the 2023 NSF CAREER Award and the 2023 Faculty Research Excellence Award. He has secured funding from the NSF, MEDC, and industry partners, authored/co-authored 60+ peer-reviewed publications, one book, and three book chapters, and holds five granted patents with one pending.
The iChip lab fosters partnerships with high-tech industries in Detroit and beyond, focusing on integrated system solutions and workforce training. Dr. Alhawari also contributes to semiconductor education and training networks, as highlighted in recent Wayne State University news.
