Mohamed Rhouma is a Professor at the University of Montréal's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Pathology and Microbiology. His research focuses on antibiotic resistance mechanisms in animal pathogens, optimizing antimicrobial use, and ensuring food safety across the 'farm-to-table' continuum. He leads the Certificat en technologie et innocuité des aliments (CTIA) program and coordinates the Chaire de recherche en salubrité des viandes (Meat Safety Research Chair).
Research interests include bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, and alternatives to antibiotics in animal husbandry.
