Mo Firdaus is a Lecturer in Games Art at the School of Digital Arts (SODA), Manchester Metropolitan University. He leads academic units including Games Production Pipeline, Indie Game Art Specialized Project, and Games For Good, while supporting broader initiatives across SODA.
His research focuses on gamification, playfulness, and ludicity, with specialized expertise in 2D/3D game art, game development, and game design. He actively investigates emerging technologies like AI, metaverses, and eXtended Reality (VR/AR/MR), implementing these in projects such as AI-integrated games, educational metaverses, NFT systems, and internationally exhibited VR artwork. His industry engagement includes mentoring indie game studios and wearable tech startups.
Firdaus disseminates his work through international TEDx Talks and academic conferences. His early publications centered on mobile learning innovations using game mechanics and instructional design.
