Mitra Rajabi is an Associate Professor and Assistant Chair in Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design, where she also earned her BFA and MFA in Fashion Design. A multi-lingual educator with over a decade of professional fashion industry experience, she leads fashion-related Travel Studies programs to Paris, London, and New York City.
Her research focuses on sustainable design principles, including zero-waste garment development, up-cycling techniques, and creating multi-functional clothing to minimize environmental impact. She has received multiple Otis Faculty Development Grants (2011, 2008-09) and was honored with the Mizuno Grand Prize in 1989.
